About the Role
As the Assistant Hospitality Manager for Culinary & Events, you will support the delivery of elevated, food and wine-driven experiences across our culinary and private events spaces. This role supports a high-performing team delivering curated experiences that highlight exceptional service, culinary excellence, and thoughtful wine pairings.
You will partner with culinary, events, and hospitality teams to ensure seamless execution of tastings, private events, and activations. This front-line leadership role focuses on coaching Hospitality Associates, maintaining service standards, and driving direct-to-consumer performance. With strong attention to detail, you will help create experiences that elevate the property's reputation as a premier culinary and wine destination.

About Sterling Vineyards
Internationally known, Sterling Vineyards is one of the most visited wineries in Napa Valley. Modeled after a Greek monastery, the winery sits 300 feet above the valley floor where visitors take an aerial tram to access the top-quality Bordeaux varietals and majestic 360-degree views of Napa Valley.
Responsibilities:
* Lead, coach, and motivate a team of ~20 Hospitality Sales Associates to achieve DTC revenue, wine club conversion, data capture, and AOV goals.
* Maintain cost controls, inventory, and sales incentives.
* Uphold guest service standards; resolve service issues.
* Oversee development and delivery of premium food and wine experiences.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Retail, and Culinary teams on programming and POS setup.
* Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor staff; conduct performance reviews and pre-shifts.
* Manage daily operations including opening/closing, cash handling, POS troubleshooting, and compliance.
* Build local relationships, represent the brand at events, and support wine club engagement.
About You
* You thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoy leading sales teams.
* You bring 4+ years of DTC wine sales or guest service experience with a track record of meeting targets.
* You are confident coaching teams of 15+.
* You possess strong wine knowledge and can educate guests on winemaking and styles.
* You are organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing daily operations.
* You communicate clearly and are tech-savvy with MS Office, POS, and reservation systems.
* You are open to flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, and represent the brand professionally.
* You can lift 40 lbs, are at least 21, and are willing to occasionally travel.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The anticipated base compensation for this position is $69,000 - $80,500. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, internal equity, and market considerations. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation, bonuses, commissions, and/or a comprehensive benefits package, as applicable. The compensation range listed reflects a good faith estimate of the hiring range for this position
