About the Role

The Grower Relations Harvest Intern supports the Grower Relations team throughout the growing season and harvest, gaining hands-on experience in vineyard operations, grape quality evaluation, and harvest coordination. Based in Napa, CA, this full-time, seasonal (typically late July/early August through October, season dependent), non-exempt seasonal role provides the opportunity to work closely with growers, vineyard teams, and winemaking partners to support the successful intake of high-quality fruit for winemaking operations.

This role is ideal for students or recent graduates with a passion for viticulture, agriculture, and the wine industry who are eager to gain meaningful, real-world harvest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Vineyard Monitoring & Sampling
* Conduct vineyard visits throughout the Napa region to monitor vineyard conditions and vine health.
* Scout vineyards for conditions related to vigor, irrigation, disease pressure, pests, sunburn, canopy development, and other viticultural practices.
* Collect grape maturity samples from contracted vineyards according to established sampling schedules.
* Record vineyard observations including phenology, crop loads, cluster counts, cluster weights, and other vineyard data.
* Assist with monitoring ripening patterns and harvest readiness.

Laboratory & Quality Support
* Perform basic laboratory analysis on grape samples to evaluate maturity and fruit quality.
* Maintain accurate sampling and laboratory records.
* Support the Grower Relations and Winemaking teams with grape quality evaluations during harvest.
* Assist in ensuring fruit quality standards and harvest specifications are met.

Harvest Coordination & Operational Support
* Communicate with Grower Relations team members regarding vineyard conditions and harvest timing.
* Support intake coordination activities to help ensure efficient fruit deliveries during harvest.
* Assist with data entry, vineyard reporting, and administrative tasks related to harvest operations.
* Provide support to cellar and laboratory operations when needed during peak harvest periods.

Grower Relations & Team Collaboration
* Build positive working relationships with growers, vineyard personnel, and internal teams.
* Support Grower Relations Representatives with seasonal vineyard and grower communication activities.
* Participate in team meetings and harvest-related discussions.
* Maintain professionalism and represent the company positively within the grower community.

Health & Safety
* Understand and follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
* Work safely in vineyard, laboratory, and winery environments.
* Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
* Operate company equipment and vehicles responsibly and safely.
* Report to work fit for duty and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
* Participate in all required safety training and activities.

About You
* Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Wine & Viticulture, Enology, Agriculture, Plant Science, or related program preferred.
* Valid Driver's License required.
* Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to maintain accurate vineyard, sampling, and laboratory records.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
* Demonstrated professionalism and positive interpersonal skills when interacting with growers and internal stakeholders.
* Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and high ethical standards.
* Flexible schedule with availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime during harvest as needed.
* Ability to adapt to rapidly changing harvest priorities and conditions.
