Hedges Family Estate is a family owned and operated winery on Red Mountain that promotes regenerative agriculture and biodynamic winemaking. We are looking to add a skilled and professional cellar master to our team. Under the supervision of the winemaker, this team member manages the cellar staff and performs various work assignments that result in the production of high-quality wines; ensures that safety procedures, cellar procedures, quality standards and training programs are followed. This position will also be in charge of routine maintenance of cellar equipment and bottling line equipment.

-Bring a genuine positive attitude and high energy 100% of the time
-Workflow management of cellar staff to execute daily assigned work orders
-Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitized facility always, including break room, outdoor harvest area, tool shed, and bottling warehouse
-Maintain equipment that ranges from pumps, ozone machines, steamers, bottling lines, presses, de-stemmers, augers, tanks and forklifts
-Performs routine barrel maintenance, topping, SO2’ing and sulfuring 
-Operate all types of pumps and filters including centrifugal, positive displacement, air pumps and bull dog pumps
-Regular participation in all cellar work
-Loads and unloads barrel trucks
-Loads and unloads bulk wine trucks 
-Supervise as well as perform all harvest duties per winemaker workorders
-Operates forklift safely and is forklift certified
-Participate in bottling including set up, sanitation, all qc bottling controls, dumping glass, packing or palletizing as needed and also diagnoses and help to fix bottling line problems
-Ensure wine is bottle ready, including filtration and dissolved oxygen measurements
-Read and perform cellar tasks as directed in the cellar work order and provide feedback via the work order. Keep winemaker informed about progress of cellar activities
-Track and maintain inventory of basic winery supplies including fittings, gaskets, valves, hoses, sanitation chemicals, citric acid, filtration media
-Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

-Ability to direct and manage crew members and work together with the team, be a leader and role model to the cellar team, including harvest interns
-Strong organizational and problem solving skills; sets priorities
-Innovative, positive team player, ability to direct work where necessary
-Ability to work in small confined spaces and high places, such as catwalks and ladders
-Ability to work extended shifts; including night shifts during harvest typically 6 days a week for 2 months and hours well exceeding 40+ per week
