Benchmark Wine Group is searching for an outstanding wine professional to join our team as a Junior Business Development Associate.

We seek a self-motivated, dynamic, and responsible wine professional to join the elite team of Benchmark Wine Group. This position is an entry-level client relationship role. Wine-industry or relatable customer relationship experience is strongly preferred. Professionalism and the drive to get the job done, along with a passion for creating client satisfaction are elements a successful candidate will possess. You will play a key part in building meaningful relationships with our constantly growing base of VIP wine collectors. Under the direction of the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of communications with our acquisitions clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•  Engage daily with existing collector clients to assist them with selling wines from their personal collections
•  Quote clients on private collections valued at $10k and above with the goal of “closing” the cellar
•  Perform all client interaction including developing long lasting relationships with key clients
•  Maintain a system of follow ups and client contact regarding collection quotes
•  Create and develop new ways of receiving more cellar submissions
•  Work with Logistics and Cellar Teams to coordinate routing, schedule pick-ups, and coordinate check-ins.
•  Assist with bottle inspections, and check-ins.
•  Travel as frequently as necessary to pick-up off-site collections, meet clients, and ensure integrity of cellars prior to transport/arrival on site
•  Work to meet and/or surpass all Company/collection deadlines
•  Communicate with appropriate managers and co-workers on collection/deadline status daily
•  Maintain a 99% level of accuracy for all check-ins
•  Assist in quarterly physical inventory counts
•  Adhere to and maintain bottle condition standards
•  Responsible for input regarding department procedures
•  Attend and consistently contribute to weekly meetings
•  Attend weekly educational tastings of rare wines from the Benchmark cellar
•  Collaborate with the Marketing Team on useful knowledge about incoming collections
•  Other activities that we may define together to support the Business Development team as necessary

Skills and Qualifications:
•  Domestic and global wine knowledge preferred
•  Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required; strong skills are a big plus
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
•  Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or client challenges
•  Ability to understand and execute instructions
•  Ability to solve problems efficiently
•  High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
•  Two years or more in related experience
