Job Title: Events Manager

Position Overview: The Events Manager supports the business objectives and leads the activities of the Hospitality Events team including Events and Trade Hospitality. This position is responsible for driving revenue growth, supporting private events, driving visitation, providing outstanding customer service and organizing memorable events that meet intended DTC goals and expectations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
• Lead the successful execution of all winery events, annual planning and creation of a private events annual plan all while driving revenue and visitation.
• Manage all event rental orders, service staff/event staff, entertainment bookings, catering requirements, scheduling of vendors, etc. to ensure smooth execution of all events.
• Work closely with and communicate with the DTC team on a daily/weekly basis involving everything events and trade to ensure planning and collaboration are consistent and effective. This can include but is not limited to internal/ trade/ consumer events; rental orders for each event; ordering culinary/ general supplies (as needed); scheduling food prep help through temp staffing agencies to ensure needs are met for all areas and more.
• Onsite management of events including setup, breakdown and management of human resources, including being an adaptable problem solver who delivers creative and efficient solutions
• Provide excellent customer service at events, and assist with wine pouring and service as needed
• Serve as a valued resource for internal and external customers in event ideation, décor, staffing and budget development
• Manage events to budget, and provide post financial recaps to event owners
• Establish vendor relationships that deliver high quality and reduce costs
• Ensure all events are in alignment with and enhance brand image and positioning while meeting elevated standards of service
• Act as a positive role model and ambassador for RSWE in the wine industry community
• Responsible for promotion and advertising plans and execution to deliver sufficient attendance at all DTC events while collaborating with Social media, marketing and DTC teams
• Over see Trade Management while managing any trade hospitality staff, working to improve trade guest performance, manage and deliver trade request forms and ensure trade group recaps are delivered back to requestors.
• Ongoing outreach and prospecting for groups and corporate events, highlighting a multi-venue facility
• Responsible for acquiring and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the RSWE portfolio and be able to articulate this knowledge to customers
• Provide guidance to ensure staff operates according to standards for professional customer service and that the company policies and procedures are followed by all staff members. Identify behavior or performance problems and address to take immediate corrective action
• Establish an atmosphere of teamwork and positive employee relations
• Record and submit all POs and invoices for Company events to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner
• Oversee all Trade, Event, and Culinary request forms, and update as needed
• Work collaboratively with the Sales, Marketing, Communications and DTC team in creating and executing company events that enhance customer relationships and promote brand advocacy
• Execute special projects and provide general assistance as required by the VP of Marketing.
• Perform other duties, responsibilities and light administrative functions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Extraordinary planning and project management skills with attention to finite details and an ability to anticipate customer needs and respond appropriately
• Three + years’ experience leading and executing special events and some experience required in wine industry
• BA or BS required in marketing, communications, hospitality or other related field
• Strong computer literacy including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Sharepoint and some Photoshop along with C7/ Wine Direct systems.
• Demonstrated command of outstanding customer service and leadership skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to speak effectively before groups
• Must be able to problem solve quickly while making sound business decisions
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in any environment include high pressure
• Motivated, dynamic, good communicator and collaborator, team-oriented self-starter
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include weekends and some evenings
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Physical Demands:
This job requires working in both indoor, outdoor, cold and warm environments. You will be standing for long periods of time, as well as other physical demands including but not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing, standing, bending, sitting, and squatting.
Compensation: $75K- $85K
