Job Description

Massanois is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to oversee and grow portfolio sales in the (Multiple Territories Available) region of the United States.
If you are a positive, inspiring, multitasking, and “can-do” sales professional, this role is for you.

We’re looking for a seasoned wine & spirits sales professional with experience in distribution and/or importing, a proven ability to sell. You have a comprehensive understanding of the U.S. three-tier system. You should have strong wine knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a track record of building meaningful sales relationships with distributors, restaurants, retailers, and national accounts. You have sales relationships in your territory that want to work with YOU.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can create and execute plans, measure results, and consistently deliver growth while staying calm and effective under pressure.

Primary Responsibilities

* Manage distributors in your territory to achieve brand and company sales objectives
* Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor owners, managers, and sales teams
* Develop and execute regional and local sales plans, including support and programming budgets
* Successfully launch new brands and deliver distribution goals for all core brands
* Optimize the distribution footprint, including evaluating and selecting new partners where needed
* Build relationships with key on- and off-premise independent and chain accounts (directly or via distributor partners)
* Support and execute national account programming within your territory; develop new national accounts headquartered in your region
* Manage POS and sample distribution effectively
* Travel extensively within your territory for distributor market work (a key component of this role)
* Travel with buyers and distributor partners to visit Massanois winery partners

Skills for Success

*Deep product knowledge and understanding of the wine industry, competitive landscape, and market trends
* Ability to manage and develop distributor sales tools (pricing, inventory, incentives, sales support)
* Skilled in running and analyzing sales/depletion reports to drive targeted focus and measurable results
* Accurate territory forecasting to support brand and purchasing teams
* Strong collaboration with the business development and national sales teams to target and close new distribution and accounts
* Ability to capture detailed distributor/account meeting notes and follow up promptly on all action items
* Commercially minded with strong analytical skills; experienced with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Excel/Google Sheets required)
* Highly organized, efficient, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills & Attributes

* 3+ years experience with a wine importer, wholesaler, or retailer
* 2+ years direct sales experience with a wine importer, wholesaler, or retailer
* Strong knowledge of and passion for fine wine
* Experience with inventory management and planning
* Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (required)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PowerPoint (or Google equivalents)
* Salesforce experience a plus
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to share wine stories and business strategies with clarity and impact
* Strong organizational and time management skills; able to meet goals and deadlines consistently
* Fast typing ability for accurate, timely meeting notes
