About Us
The Loudoun Wineries & Winegrowers Association (LWWA) is a nonprofit trade organization representing the wineries, vineyards, and growers of Loudoun County, Virginia. Our mission is to promote and enhance the Loudoun wine industry, working collectively to raise the visibility of Loudoun wines in the marketplace and position the region as a premier wine destination on the East Coast.
Through marketing, education, advocacy, and trade development, LWWA supports our members while strengthening Loudoun’s identity as “DC’s Wine Country.” This pilot program represents a major step forward in bringing Loudoun wines directly into restaurants, retail shops, and hotels, building a recognizable Loudoun wine brand that benefits the entire region.
Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Sales & Brand Representative to open, maintain, and grow accounts for Loudoun wines. This hybrid role combines direct sales with brand ambassador responsibilities: driving placements, educating trade partners, supporting events, and representing Loudoun wine to the market.
This is a part-time, independent contractor position structured as a 6-month pilot agreement. If successful, the role will continue and expand. The contractor will be paid via 1099 and is responsible for their own taxes. This role is ideal for a candidate with existing wine sales experience and may be compatible with current distributor work (provided there is no conflict of interest).
Key Responsibilities
Sales / Distribution
Prospect, open, and manage accounts (restaurants, retailers, wine shops, hotels).
Secure by-the-glass, retail, and endcap placements; hit quarterly sales goals.
Track, report, and achieve POD (Point of Distribution) and placement targets.
Brand Management
Represent Loudoun wine at tastings, staff trainings, and industry events.
Deliver brand education and storytelling to trade partners and their teams.
Support marketing efforts including POS, merchandising, and local promotions.
Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with beverage directors, sommeliers, managers, and staff.
Ensure excellent post-sale service including delivery follow-up, merchandising, and re-orders.
Qualifications
Wine sales or distributor rep experience strongly preferred.
Broad wine knowledge with certifications preferred.
Confident communicator and relationship-builder.
Entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset; able to work independently.
Reliable transportation; able to travel within Northern Virginia.
Basic CRM, Excel, or sales reporting familiarity.
Compensation & Incentives
Base Pay: $1,000 per month.
Sales Commission: Earn commission for every case sold.
Placement Incentives: Bonus for POD placements.
Quarterly Bonuses: Rewarded for meeting/exceeding sales goals.
Paid as a 1099 independent contractor (no payroll withholding).
