Job Summary
Obelisco Estate Winery is growing! We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Tasting Room Associate to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will bring prior winery or high-end hospitality experience, a strong knowledge of wine, and a genuine passion for delivering elevated guest experiences. This role requires not only wine education but also confidence in food handling and safety practices, as well as the ability to create memorable, premium-level experiences for every guest.
Responsibilities
• Welcome and engage guests with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail, creating a world-class tasting experience.
• Lead guided tastings with confidence and expertise, sharing the Obelisco Estate story, winemaking philosophy, and wine knowledge in an authentic and engaging way.
• Prepare and serve charcuterie with care, maintaining the highest standards of food handling and safety.
• Maintain a clean, polished tasting room environment that reflects the quality of our brand.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
• Monitor and restock supplies as needed, communicating shortages to management.
• Support wine sales and wine club memberships by offering tailored recommendations and building lasting relationships with guests.
• Assist with special events, private tastings, and evening hours as required.
Requirements
• Previous experience in a winery tasting room or luxury hospitality setting highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of wine with the ability to speak confidently about varietals, food pairings, and winemaking.
• Food handling knowledge a plus; Washington Food Handler’s Permit must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• MAST 12 Permit required within 30 days of hire.
• Demonstrated excellence in customer service, with the ability to remain positive, poised, and professional during peak hours.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Availability to work a minimum of 2–3 shifts per week, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
