Job Description
Since 1983, Vehrs Distributing has been on a mission to create and deliver the best premium wine and spirits portfolio in the Pacific Northwest. As our company continues to grow its portfolio to include non-alcoholic beverages and expands to reach more clients in the Western Washington region, we are in search of an experienced, results-driven Northeast District Manager to lead and grow our sales across the territory (NE King County, Snohomish, Whatcom, Skagit). The ideal candidate is a hands-on sales leader with a track record in the adult beverage industry distribution or retail account management who will coach a field team, execute chain programs, drive territory sales growth, and directly engage clients as necessary. This role reports to the Vice Present of Sales and requires frequent travel within the assigned territory.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Sales Management:
Provide leadership, direction, and day-to-day management for district sales team to achieve company sales, margin and service objectives.
Develop and implement territory sales strategies in alignment with company goals.
Deliver ongoing coaching, conduct ride-along, and implement performance improvement plans as necessary.
Conduct semi-annual and annual employee performance reviews; set objectives and development plans.
Recruit, coach and develop new sales representatives and account managers as required.
Market Strategy & Supplier Growth
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key accounts across both in premise and off-premises channels.
Ensure strategic placement of products, including shelf space, displays, wine list features, and BTG (by-the-glass) offerings.
Identify new market opportunities and allocate resources to capitalize on growth potential.
Stay informed on account openings, closing, and competitive activity.
Portfolio Strategy & Supplier Engagement
Collaborate with portfolio managers to launch new brands and support existing ones.
Provide market feedback and trend analysis to guide programming and promotional strategies.
Coordinate supplier visits, including winemaker dinners, market surveys, and in-store events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field; equivalent sales/distribution experience considered.
Five (5) + year of progressive sales experience in beverage/alcohol distribution, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or grocery; minimum two (2) years in a frontline sales leadership position or district manager role preferred.
Strong network of buyers and clients in the Western Washington market.
In-depth knowledge of the Western Washington competitive landscape.
Proven ability to lead and develop a geographically dispersed field sales team.
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds stand and sit for long periods.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal teams.
Must pass a drug screening, background check and physical abilities test.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and proof of insurance.
Reliable personal transportation.

A $75,000 annual salary (DOE) with opportunity for bonuses.
