Job Description:

Newberg winery is seeking a dedicated Cellarmaster to join our team. We are a high-end small-lot winery that will produce 16,000 cases from some of the best vineyards in the Willamette Valley. This position will work in a newly built winery which will process mostly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay but will also process Gamay Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, as well as smaller amounts of other fun varietals. Under the direction of the winemaking team, the Cellarmaster will take an active and hands-on role in performing and overseeing all winemaking activities in the winery.

Job Duties:
•  Perform all aspects of cellar and harvest wine work
•  Maintain a clean, organized, and functional cellar
•  Performs regular cellar and facility assessments
•  Implements preventative maintenance and general upkeep
•  Responsible for timely completion of work orders
•  Operate winemaking and heavy equipment
•  Conduct trainings for cellar staff
•  Facilitate bottling and packaging
•  Inventory of cellar supplies
•  Participate in sensory analysis
•  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
•  3-5 years of cellar experience
•  Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
•  Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
•  Acute attention to detail
•  Amble skills in MS Office and Vintrace
•  Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
•  Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills
•  Intimate operational knowledge of winery equipment and procedure and ability to train staff
•  General and industry specific mechanical/facility knowledge. Capable of identifying and addressing issues
•  3+ years of forklift experience
•  Reliable transportation
•  Must be flexible to work varying shifts, overtime, and weekends

Physical Skills:
•  Moderate to heavy physical work
•  Standing for long periods of time
•  Exposure to various chemicals in production areas
•  Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
•  Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts
•  Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
•  Works outdoors/indoors in cold/warm climates
