We are looking for a motivated and experienced Direct Sales Manager to join our team. He or she will be responsible for leading our team that includes our wine club, e-commerce and phone orders, and customer service. Candidates should enjoy teaching, mentoring, and motivating team members, have strong writing skills and attention to detail, and be experienced users of wine e-commerce and point-of-sale tools, including demonstrated experience developing sales strategies, analyzing results, and designing and executing campaigns.
While we are looking for a candidate with big picture vision and experience, we also need someone willing to dive in and work alongside their team as needed on daily tasks including processing and troubleshooting orders, coordinating with our fulfillment house and compliance software, interfacing with customers and wine club members, and leading a team by their example.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of direct sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales targets
• Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue and increase market share
• Monitor sales performance and provide feedback, training, and support to ensure continuous improvement
• Analyze sales & shipping data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
• Foster strong relationships with key clients and prospects to expand business opportunities
• Collaborate with marketing and other departments to align sales efforts with overall business goals
• Oversee and when necessary process and troubleshoot orders
• Oversee coordination with our fulfillment house and compliance team
• Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management
• Provide customer service
• Assist with member and winery events
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in winery direct sales or sales management
• Personnel management experience, including demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
• Strong writing ability
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with modern winery point-of-sale and compliance systems
• Experience with AMS (Advanced Management Systems) and ShipCompliant is a plus
• Must be comfortable standing and pouring wine for significant periods of time
• Must maintain a California RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
• Must be located near, or willing to relocate to, Paso Robles, CA
Salary information: Starting salary range between $80,000 and $110,000 depending on skills and experience. This full-time position includes medical, dental and vision benefits, profit sharing, 401K matching, continuing education, and paid holidays/vacation.
Job location: This is an on-premise job at the Tablas Creek facility in Paso Robles, California.
