SUMMARY: The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing the distributor network to deliver shipment, depletion, distribution, and revenue growth, as well as achieving assigned personal objectives in the territory of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Direct the development and execution of sales plans and marketing programs with our distributor partners. Focus on priority markets/customers to drive brand growth, enhance market share, and achieve financial objectives.
•  Influence and engage distributor partners and brokers through the establishment of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals and objectives, including shipments, revenue, distribution and depletions.
•  Facilitate the relationship with key principles within your territory of responsibility (VP, GM, Director, Sales Manager level positions).
•  Maintain constant communication with distributor leadership regarding progress on monthly volume and distribution progress.
•  Manage, educate, train and direct distributors within the assigned territory to execute company sales and marketing programs.
•  Call on regional chain headquarters, as well as key accounts, On-Premise & Off-Premise, in conjunction with distributor partners and/or independently on a weekly basis and recap with Division Manager.
•  Constantly evaluate market specific brand competition, product placement, retail pricing.
•  Communicate, educate, and execute brand standards, channel specific priorities, and target the correct ratio of channel sales to our distributor partners.
•  Provide insight on market specific progress and ways to improve business to SFW leadership.
•  Manage all financial budgets and pricing to ensure fiscal revenue plan is achieved, in accordance with company policy and brand objectives.
•  Evaluate depletion trends and manage distributor inventory on a consistent basis.
•  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, adapt and respond to change quickly.
•  Travel is essential to manage, educate, and establish expectations with our distributor partners within the parameters of the T&E budget.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•  A four-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience enabling the candidate to perform job responsibilities as required. (Equivalent work experience may include supplier, distributor, or beverage industry management and/or Consumer Product Goods management).
•  Five plus (5+) years' experience in wine sales preferred.
•  Experience managing a distributor network and direct reports across broad geographic territories preferred.
•  National & Regional on-premise and off-premise chain headquarter call experience preferred.
•  Experience with exclusive and/or private labels is preferred.
•  Understanding of distributor pricing and the ability to build, analyze and manage margins and spends by state.
•  Proficient oral and written communication skills.
•  Interpretive skills: Candidate must possess the ability to define problems, establish facts and collect data to interpret issues, draw valid conclusions from the data and recommend solutions to the business problem. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of statistical information, including, but not limited to IRI and A.C. Nielsen, is important.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and/or keyboard. Required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to see, taste, and smell (wine products in particular). Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. This job requires use of the computer and phone.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•  Must possess valid driver’s license and maintain acceptable driving record.
•  Ability to travel extensively to support sales across assigned region.
•  This is a remote position that requires working out of a home office.
•  Employee must comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations which govern the alcoholic beverage industry and maintain at all times the highest ethical business standards and fiduciary duty on behalf of the company and its customers.
