Mayacamas Vineyards is one of the original iconic Napa Valley wineries. We are looking for team members to maintain and evolve our elevated guest experiences, providing high-touch, luxury customer service standards that have become the benchmark for collectable Napa Valley wines.
Position Summary:
We are in search of a professional that embodies an innate desire to provide genuine hospitality to our guests and drive sales. As a primary role this position will require hosting tastings/tours as well as private groups at the estate atop Mt. Veeder. As a secondary role this candidate will also be expected to be flexible and proficient in working our downtown tasting room when needed by the team.
Position Responsibilities:
• Provide a unique and engaging experience for guests that genuinely encourages brand loyalty, wine sales and membership signups
• Thoughtfully connect with guests on the rich history, property and winemaking style
• Facilitate and administer all tasting experiences for walk-in, by appointment and large group clientele
• Open and pour wine in accordance with Responsible Beverage Service Guidelines
• Accurately and consistently process all sales transactions via POS system including shipping orders, membership transactions and retail merchandise
• Thoroughly perform and complete opening and closing responsibilities per established protocol
• Assist in maintaining the luxury appearance of the tasting salons
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime when required
• 2+ years tasting room and/or winery experience preferred
• Experience in a luxury retail setting preferred
• CMS Introductory, Certified and/or WSET preferred
• Carry a natural desire and pleasure toward delivering a high level of hospitality
• Impeccable communication skills (written and oral)
• Enthusiastic team focused mindset
• Technical proficiency with point of sales and reservations software
• A fundamental knowledge of the world of wine, with a focus on Napa Valley
• Able to work in a collaborative team environment with a selfless commitment to the customer
• Self-starter with an ability to anticipate and pro-actively accomplish tasks
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. required
• Willingness and ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
• Disposition to learn and be coached
Compensation:
• This is a full time hourly paid position with the opportunity to earn membership incentive. This also includes 401K and health benefits.
