National Sales Manager

Job Description:

SUMMARY: The National Sales Manager will embody the guiding principles of Accendo — care of the land, pursuit of a luxury legacy, and hard work. The ideal candidate must possess a background in fine wine sales, a keen business acumen, and polished presentation skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Wholesale Management (80%):
•  Represent the Accendo brand in ways that compel, engage, and result in increased sales.
•  Plan travels to maximize efficiency and achieve sales goals by incorporating work-withs, distributor sales meetings, account surveys, and industry events.
•  Build relationships with every key player in each market and establish Accendo as the go-to luxury brand.
•  Grow Accendo footprint in each market.
•  Identify and track target accounts, ensure placement longevity, and identify negligeable lost accounts.
•  Monitor and manage maximum impact (depletions) and price protection from internet discounting.
•  Track each distributor inventory to suggest orders, prevent any out of stocks and offer solutions for aging inventory.
•  Conduct semi-annual performance meetings with each distributor and convey outcome to management and solutions on how to address any concerns.
•  Conduct educational and sales training as needed.

Onsite and Administrative Work (20%)
•  Formulate and update as needed a 12-month rolling calendar of sales activities.
•  Present sales information and strategies to best implement Accendo brand and reach objectives both on and off-site.
•  Analyze and present data for annual shipment, depletion and revenue against goals set by management.
•  Monitor and track spending against defined budget. Stay within its parameters. If not, identify, anticipate and communicate any shortfalls promptly.
•  Gather and share information on competitive-set data about each wholesaler/account.
•  Receive and review all distributor Purchase Orders to ensure proper vintage, pricing and allocations (if applicable) and provide necessary approval for processing.
•  Collaborate with marketing to develop all Accendo materials, from pamphlets to presentations. All documents/messages must be vetted.
QUALIFYING SKILLS:
•  Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus five years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•  Existing wholesale network and relationships.
•  Pricing knowledge.
•  Ability to work independently, as well as with distributor’s sales teams.
•  Understanding of luxury brand positioning.
•  Proven public speaking and presentation skills.
•  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•  Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft.
•  Knowledge and familiarity of Enolytics and CaminoData a plus.
•  Flexibility and willingness to travel as needed throughout the year.
•  Good judgment that leads to timely, sound, concrete and applicable decisions.
•  Ability to focus on both the big picture and on minute details to maximize evolution and success of the Accendo brand.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
•  Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
•  Collect data and information.
•  Understand and respond to a diverse population.
•  Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, including a briefcase and/or sales materials.
•  Work evenings and weekends.
•  Travel by car and plane. A clean DMV record is required.
