Summary:
The Material Planner Buyer plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring the timely procurement of raw materials and components. This position is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, driving supplier performance, and supporting production schedules while meeting key objectives in customer service, quality, cost efficiency, and compliance. The role requires a balance of tactical execution and strategic supplier management to support business growth.

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $30 – $32

You Will:
Review MRP regularly and execute purchase orders, supplier confirmations, and delivery schedules to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
Track and monitor open purchase orders, supplier confirmations, delivery schedules, and invoices to ensure compliance with cost, quality, quantity, and schedule requirements.
Go to the production floor as needed to review and revise material-related issues, always maintaining a safety-first mindset.
Partner with engineering and operations teams to identify and implement cost savings opportunities.
Review, plan, and adjust material requirements to maintain targeted inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete (E&O) stock.
Routinely analyze and disposition E&O inventory.
Negotiate supplier pricing within assigned commodities to drive favorable purchase price variance (PPV).
Ensure compliance with all GMP, ISO, and regulatory guidelines as well as company policies and procedures.
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve material issues related to quality or delivery and escalate critical supplier performance concerns.
Lead proof review and approval process for custom printed components.
Manage non-conforming material communications with suppliers and coordinate resolution.
Verify packaging materials meet sizing and conformance requirements for bottling operations.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Proficiency with MRP systems and demonstrated ability to interpret and act on requirements.
Commitment to maintaining a safety-first mindset in all tasks and interactions.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to manage accurate physical inventory across multiple locations.
Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other ERP systems is highly desirable.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Maintain, support and actively promote a safe working environment
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (eight or more hours per day).
Ability to carry, lift, and move up to 25 lbs. of materials.
Ability to see and hear and respond to visual and auditory stimuli (due to equipment and related work/workflow of a warehouse environment, working with labels, dry goods, etc.) is likely required
