This position is responsible for grape deliveries St. Supery Winery in Rutherford from St. Supéry’s estate vineyards. Primary duties are driving trucks up to 26’ and including tractors and trailer movement. Position may also provide assistance to deliver other items to the winery’s locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor.
• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of St. Supery Winery and vineyard locations.
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report to location manager if any issues are found
• Obtain weigh tags and delivery to the winery with the grape.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the vineyard management.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
• 2 years of driving experience required & 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required. Must have a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record with Commercial Drivers License Class B or Class A drivers required .
• High School diploma
• Fluent in English, excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and work well with others, including customers, management, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Must be available to work scheduled days and have flexibility to work different schedules or hours when necessary.
• Must maintain a professional demeanor in dress and manners.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions is required.
• Ability to work independently
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Lift and/or move 50 pounds
• Walk on uneven surfaces inside and outside including in the vineyards (hillsides)
• Stand, squat, stoop, bend at waist and legs
• Sit and operate a computer for at least two hour intervals
• Use hands, fingers, reach, touch, see, hear, smell
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Winery Production: exposed to high noise levels when equipment is running; exposure to moving parts and fumes from the winemaking process.
• Winery operations: exposed to hazardous materials, occasional noisy equipment, indoor and outdoor conditions.
