HARVEST CELLAR TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION
The Rocks Custom Wines is a private label and custom crush facility located in The Rocks District
of Milton-Freewater. With over 130 fermentation vessels (concrete, oak and stainless), each
fitted with automatic pump over systems and Parsec micro-oxygenation, our focus is on high-
end wine production to meet the needs of a diverse client portfolio. We are seeking
experienced, motivated and passionate individuals responsible for the day-to-day cellar
operations. During harvest (typically late August through November), your hours will increase to
include overtime in your daily functions. This is a seasonal role with possibility of fulltime
employment after harvest. Teamwork is one of our core values and the individual best suited

This position starts immediately and lasts until November. Harvest interns assist the winery production
team with a myriad of tasks including:
•    Winery equipment cleaning and sanitation
•    Grape sampling
•    Grape sorting
•    Grape pressing
•    Juice and wine transfers
•    Pump-overs and punch-down
•    Drain and press operations
•    Barrel filling and barrel topping
•    Nutrient and yeast additions
•    General winery sanitation and cleaning
Qualifications:
•    Reliable and punctual
•    Upbeat and positive attitude
•    Ability to follow directions and work independently
•    Attention to detail and strong work ethic
•    Ability to work with diverse personalities
•    Previous harvest/winery experience preferred but not required
•    Ability to follow all Company safety policies and procedures
•    Previous harvest experience is a plus but not a must
Requirements:
•    Ability to work in both outdoor and indoor environments, in hot and cold climates
•    Ability to perform physical labor and sustain extended periods of standing or walking
•    Ability to work near forklift trucks, moving equipment and loud machines
•    Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers
•    Ability to work extended shifts, 6 days per week
