At Paul Hobbs Winery, we’re dedicated to crafting fresh and vibrant expressions of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon. We are seeking an accomplished Human Resources Generalist to join the team. Examples of responsibilities (not limited to those listed below):
1. Human resources:
a. Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies on employee conduct, leave management, and related areas.
b. Ensure employee handbook, HR files, and records are compliant and updated annually.
c. Lead onboarding/offboarding and exit interview process.
d. Maintain employee salary and wage history.
e. Coordinate participation in the wine industry salary survey.
f. Lead the company’s safety committee and support OSHA compliance across departments.
g. File workers’ compensation reports and conduct workplace injury investigations.
h. Assist with the recruitment process, review résumés for job candidates, and participate in the interview process.
2. Payroll:
a. Accurately process weekly and bi-weekly payroll, including PTO tracking, 401(k) contributions, wage garnishments, and HSA/FSA processing.
b. Manage employee status changes (e.g., promotions, terminations, leave).
c. Coordinate year-end 401(k) process, census reporting, and audits.
3. Benefits management:
a. Oversee healthcare benefits renewal, eligibility, enrollment, deductions, and contribution processing.
b. Audit benefit records regularly to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Basic job requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience or certification.
2. 3-5 years related experience and/or training; 2 years in a similar position, ideally in the wine industry.
3. Solid understanding of legal compliance, payroll/HRIS, benefits, compensation and employee relations.
4. Fluent in Spanish.
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. IBS experience a plus.
