POSITION SUMMARY
The Culinary Assistant plays an important role in helping ensure our culinary and tasting room teams have the support needed to execute at a high level. Daily responsibilities will include assisting with programed wine and food experiences.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Assists with prep and execution of culinary offerings including accurate and expeditious production of plated recipes with strict adherence to all specifications.
•  Understands seasonal wine and food menus.
•  Clears, cleans, and stocks dishes and glassware as required.
•  Actively supports back of the house and front of the house duties as needed, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
•  Has the ability and interest to serve guests, when needed, and provides excellent customer service.
•  Assists in the maintenance of proper inventories as well as packages, stores, and secures all food items according to established procedures and all health and safety regulations.
•  Excellent communication skills.
•  Sequoia Grove operates as a team. This position must be willing to effectively interact with the team to create a pleasant work environment and enjoyable guest experience.
•  Any and all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills
•  Previous related experience preferred.
•  Ability to communicate with the team and with guests in a confident, knowledgeable, warm, and friendly manner.
•  Ability to follow directions and manage consistently changing priorities with enthusiasm.
•  Proactive; anticipates needs and works to meet them.
•  Reliable and punctual.
•  Excellent customer service skills.
•  Sound judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
•  Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
•  Professional appearance and demeanor.
•  Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
•  Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
•  Must be 18 years of age.
•  Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs (case of wine)
•  Able to stand for long periods of time.
•  Possession or ability to obtain both Food Handlers Card and Serve Safe Certification
