The Compliance, Food Safety, and Export Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring all winery operations meet domestic and international regulatory requirements. This position manages third-party audit programs, oversees HACCP and food safety systems, maintains export compliance documentation, and ensures adherence to all relevant wine industry regulations. The role requires establishing guidelines and program standards, collaborating with regulatory and third-party partners, conducting training, and implementing policies and procedures to strengthen both food safety and compliance systems.
Duties
• Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and One Point Lessons (OPLs) to facilitate knowledge transfer and regulatory capability.
• Provide leadership and technical assistance to operations by managing food safety, HACCP, and compliance systems.
• Instill regulatory awareness and commitment across the organization.
• Monitor and maintain the company’s HACCP plan, food safety programs, and associated documentation.
• Obtain and maintain certification as a HACCP Coordinator; ensure all critical control points are effectively monitored and verified.
• Facilitate regulatory visits, inspections, and export compliance audits.
• Manage preparation and facilitation of BRC, HACCP, CSWA, Social Compliance, Organic, Export Compliance, and other certification audits.
• Oversee export documentation, including Certificates of Origin, Export Declarations, FDA Prior Notice, COLA/TTB compliance, and destination country requirements.
• Ensure compliance with international labeling, shipping, and customs regulations for wine exports.
• Prepare and submit finished product certifications, including export-related certificates.
• Assist in maintaining the corrective and preventive action program.
• Oversee internal sanitation and housekeeping inspections, including GMP inspections.
• Manage the recall program, including execution of mock recalls and actual recalls as required, including export product recalls.
• Maintain communication/performance boards and participate in Safety inspections, GEMBA walks, BRC reviews, and other audits as assigned.
• Serve as Document Control Manager for the winery, ensuring all compliance documents are HACCP-, BRC-, CSWA-, and export-audit ready.
• Lead BRC, customer, supplier, export, and regulatory audits.
• Conduct HACCP/SSOP training for employees annually or as needed.
• Provide technical expertise on prerequisite programs, verifications, and operational inputs.
• Monitor and communicate regulatory updates, including changes in export/import laws and requirements.
• Maintain approved vendor list with annual renewals, including export-related suppliers and logistics partners.
• Perform pre-shipment reviews, export document checks, recalls, and traceability exercises.
• Serve as lead auditor for internal audits and schedule audits with other team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field required
• Minimum 2 years of compliance, HACCP, and export experience in the wine or food/beverage industry.
• HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) certified or ability to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOPs, BRC requirements, and export documentation processes.
• Experience with implementation, verification, document control, and auditing.

Salary: DOE $75,000 - $100,000 annually
