Turley Wine Cellars is hiring a part-time Tasting Room Ambassador to work Friday-Sunday (generally 7-8 hours shifts). We value providing a high level of hospitality and wine education to both guests and employees in an environment that is dynamic, welcoming and authentic.

Job Description
We’re looking for hospitality-minded individuals with a passion for wine and creating a warm, welcoming experience for every guest. The ideal candidate has a talent for connecting with people, telling engaging stories about Turley, and presenting our wines to support returning customer relationships and sales. Our tasting rooms are often busy, so this role requires initiative and teamwork. Recent industry experience is essential, whether in a tasting room, restaurant, or retail wine sales.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour plus sales incentive pay, gratuities, company bonus, profit sharing, paid sick leave and monthly employee wine program.

Responsibilities include:
•  Providing guests with an excellent tasting and purchasing experience
•  Learning our history, wines, winemaking practices, vineyards, appellations, press and scores to confidently tell the TWC story
•  Assisting guests in selecting wines based on the information they share and past purchase history
•  Effectively balancing multiple tables while delivering personalized experiences
•  Processing sales transactions and customer data in POS system quickly and accurately
•  Performing opening and closing procedures, stocking wine and moving cases, washing and polishing glassware, keeping guest areas and supply stations clean and stocked

Job Requirements
•  Be at least 21 years of age
•  1+ years recent tasting room/wine sales/restaurant experience
•  Some formal wine education preferred
•  RBS Certification
•  Reliably work 3-4 shifts per week including weekends and holidays
•  Be collaborative, positive and professional in interactions with colleagues and guests
•  Have excellent communication, presentation, teamwork, and sales skills
•  Navigate POS and other technology systems quickly and accurately
•  Follow company policies and procedures
•  Have sufficient wine knowledge, work experience and physical ability to successfully perform job

Physical Requirements
•  Move between tables and use trays to deliver glassware, wine, other beverages or food to tables
•  Stand, walk, stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
•  Sit, climb stairs, use tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, kneel, talk or hear on a regular basis for long periods of time (8 hour shifts)
•  Communicate in a clear, understandable speaking voice, capable of communicating information to fellow employees, vendors, and guests
•  Speak, read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English; bi-lingual a plus

Turley Wine Cellars was founded in Napa Valley by Larry Turley. Under the direction of winemaker Tegan Passalacqua, Turley makes historic California wines from over 50 vineyards across the state, primarily Zinfandel and Petite Syrah, with many vines dating back to the late 1800s. By farming organically and focusing on old vine, heritage vineyards, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture.
