Harvest & Cellar Intern - Prosser, Washington
Ackley Brands is a large-scale, quality-driven winery located in the heart of Washington wine country. Our team is dedicated to crafting exceptional wines while maintaining a safe, collaborative, and high-energy workplace. We’re looking for a motivated individual to join us for the 2025 harvest season, with combined responsibilities in both harvest operations and ongoing cellar work.
Position Summary
The Harvest & Cellar Intern will work onsite in Prosser to support all aspects of winemaking during harvest and assist with cellar activities year-round. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well both independently and in a team.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform grape processing including sorting, crushing, pressing, and juice/wine transfers.
• Conduct pump-overs, punch-downs, racking’s, and additions as directed by the winemaking team.
• Assist with fermentation monitoring (Brix, temperature, sensory checks).
• Operate, clean, and sanitize winery equipment and tanks to exacting standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
• Support bottling operations as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and quality procedures.
• Accurately complete work orders and recordkeeping.
• Perform additional cellar duties during the off-harvest period, including barrel work, wine movements, blending, and general maintenance.
Qualifications
• Prior winery or harvest experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during peak harvest.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Forklift experience a plus (training available).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
