About the Role

The Compliance Specialist I is responsible for Federal and State alcoholic beverage regulatory compliance; including but not limited to licensing, product registrations, state reporting and excise tax payments. This hybrid role within the Legal Department is ideal for recent graduates considering law school, as well as entry-level or experienced professionals who are quick learners and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. On-site presence is required at the Napa and St. Helena offices at least two days per week.

Key Responsibilities
* You will ensure regulatory compliance by managing over 500 U.S. and Canadian alcohol licenses, including renewals, supplier wholesale, direct-to-consumer, and excise tax permits.
* You will maintain robust data integrity through systems like eCompli and ShipCompliant, overseeing direct-to-consumer compliance and third-party excise tax submissions.
* You will navigate federal and state requirements to manage label review, label registrations, COLA submissions, and formula approvals, while controlling costs and evaluating existing approvals.
* You will collaborate cross functionally with Sales and Commercial Finance regarding new prices, prices changes, and obsolete items. You will prepare and submit state price filings where required.
* You will manage critical regulatory assets-including insurance bonds, NABCA codes, FDA registrations, and distributor databases-ensuring compliance across domestic and international operations.
* You will support the business in global trade activities by handling import/export queries and assist with customs clearance(DEL: . :DEL)

About you
* Four-year university degree
* 0-3 years administrative experience in a compliance role
* Certified Notary Public (or ability to obtain) preferred
* An interest in federal and state alcoholic beverage regulations
* Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to legal compliance matters
* Strong ability to manage deadlines
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
* Ability to think critically
* Strong attention to detail

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 per year and other benefits. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of our Napa and St. Helena locations. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
