Join Jean Hoefliger, consulting winemaker for premium wineries in Napa, Sonoma, and around the world. This is an opportunity to produce premium Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon from some of the region’s most iconic and highly coveted sites as part of a small cohesive, and thoughtful team who share a passion for crafting excellent wine and having fun while doing so. This position will initially be based at a winery near downtown Sonoma.

The ability to work at the direction of the winemaking team, but independently on the following is essential to the position:

Administrative & Operational
- Lot tracking, cellar organization and workflow
- Monitor equipment function and engage third parties for maintenance and repair

Winemaking Tasks
- Inoculation and additions
- Perform cap management activities (pumpovers, punchdowns, etc)
- Ability to operate a bladder press and make press cuts based on winemaker requests
- Topping, sulfuring, filling and racking barrels
- Facilitate wine movements: racking, draining, transfers and blending
- Post-primary fermentation drains, barrel downs, tank dig-outs, etc
- Monitor brix and temperature during fermentation
- Cleaning and sanitation of tanks, barrels, crush equipment, pumps, hoses, etc.
- Post-harvest clean-up
- Understanding of general wine chemistry (Brix, pH, RS, VA, MA)
- Ability to prepare wines for bottling
