Handcrafted Wines is currently accepting applications for a Full Time Wine Sales Representative and Portfolio Manager for the Portland area. The Portfolio Manager component will be a supportive role for a single fine wine supplier. The ideal candidate will not only have experience selling throughout the three tier system but additionally have active relationships with top tier accounts. The sales territory is well established with active business and can be customized based upon experience and candidate's current intimacy with the Portland area market. Working knowledge of international wine appellations, regional typicity and comfort with premium fine wines is a must.
A successful person in this newly created position will maintain and increase sales among active customers while assisting the Director of Sales with inventory management, release offers, market presentations, supplier visits, event planning and portfolio education for a designated supplier. The candidate must have the ability to work independently and manage their time effectively with minimal supervision. Organization, product knowledge and humility are the keys to success.
Applicants will have:
• At least 4 years of experience in fine wine and/or spirits sales. Wholesale experience required.
• Excellent wine and spirits knowledge (please mention any relevant certifications and/or experiences).
• Experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Illustrator and Adobe programs.
• Pre-existing relationships with customers in this territory.
• Ability to gauge wine knowledge/tastes of the customer and suggest appropriate selections from our portfolio.
• Desire and ambition to "cold call" and follow up on new prospects.
• Work with the Sales Manager, producers and supplier representatives to organize restaurant staff training, in-store demos, winemaker dinners, industry tastings and other promotional events.
• Be willing and able to work some evenings and weekends in support of sales and marketing events.
• Have a knowledge of and passion for wine.
• Have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
• Be able to carry 40lbs for up to 50 feet.
• Have a computer and demonstrate basic skills in Google Office Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Be dependable, reliable and honest.
• Be self-motivated and have excellent time-management skills.
• Have superior professional communication skills both written and verbal.
• Have a positive attitude and desire to work with colleagues to continually improve our company and cultivate business in your territory.
Ideal Applicants will have:
• Experience with Encompass CRM/ERP operating platform.
