Founded in 2001, Punchdown Cellars was based on a collective of winemakers having the freedom to hand craft small lots in a vibrant shared space. Located in Santa Rosa, Punchdown Cellars provides a full host of custom crush services for premium wine production with an impressive client roster of over 40 boutique producers. We are passionate about wine and our local wine community, and want to share this with our staff. Throughout the year we host regular themed and blind tastings, as well as the occasional group cookout or themed meal where staff is encouraged to share a dish or favorite wine. Opportunities for wine education are offered, and employees are encouraged to interact with our client winemakers to better understand their process and any specified assigned tasks.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and energetic cellar worker to join our year-round production team. The cellar worker will report to the production manager and will be responsible for carrying out work orders as instructed. Work will encompass all cellar activities allowing employees to acquire a broad range of wine production skills. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail are essential for our team’s success.

Duties and Responsibilities

Wine transfers and movements
Barrel work: topping, filling, maintaining, etc.
Wine additions: SO2, fining agents, inoculations etc.
Sampling
Cleaning tanks and equipment
General maintenance
Maintaining a safe working environment

Qualifications

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of basic English and Spanish
Experience with basic math
High school diploma
Forklift certification a plus
1-2 years experience

Compensation
Hourly wage, DOE
Harvest Overtime and Double Time pay
