Schramsberg, America's House of Sparkling Wine, is seeking a Part-Time Wine Educator to join our team.

The ideal candidate should be friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable about wines and the Napa Valley. They must be able to speak confidently in front of groups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Providing guests with an outstanding and unique tasting room experience
•  Telling our story of Schramsberg and Davies Family
•  Provide exceptional guest service to new and existing wine club members
•  Sell wines and sign up new wine club members
•  Conduct opening and closing duties
•  Daily stocking of the tasting room wine and supplies
•  Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor and kitchen areas
•  Conduct and participate in special events at the Schramsberg winery.
•  Work on additional projects and perform other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS
•  Three to five years of experience with an emphasis on sales, in winery tasting rooms, restaurant, or retail operations.
•  Must have experience conducting tours, in addition to tasting-only experiences.
•  Knowledge of AMS, Microsoft Office, and experience with inventory a plus
•  Ability to provide a memorable experience that leads to sales and wine club sign-ups
•  Understanding of the hospitality business
•  Knowledge and passion for wines, wine regions of the world, and wine production
•  Be able to taste and describe components of wine and recommend wine and food pairings
•  Knowledge of wine varietals particularly Bordeaux, Burgundy & Champagne varietals
•  Understanding of Napa Valley as well as other AVAs in North Coast
•  Solid knowledge of Napa Valley as a Wine Country tourism destination (wineries, hotels, restaurants, tour companies, etc.)

Physical Requirements:
•  Required to use hands and/or fingers to handle or feel.
•  Frequently required to stand for long periods.
•  Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
•  Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, talk or hear, taste or smell.
•  Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends (required)
•  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Accident prevention is of primary importance in all phases of job responsibilities.
•  Follow all company policies and procedures, including job safety, safety rules, and regulations.
•  Assist management in providing safe and healthy working conditions at all times.
•  Immediately report all unsafe conditions, work-related accidents, and illnesses to the Safety Manager and supervisor.

Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The pay scale for this position is $21.00/hr. - $24.50/hr. These figures represent what we expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend on numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and market alignment.
