Job Description:

Davis Estates is growing! As we continue to expand in 2025, we are seeking a few additional Estate Hosts to join our hospitality team. This role is essential to ensuring every guest receives the highest level of luxury service and memorable experiences that reflect our commitment to excellence in wine and food pairings. We have both a Full-time and Part-time position available.

Located between St. Helena and Calistoga, Davis Estates is a family-owned, appointment-only winery that offers elevated guest experiences, including chef-curated wine and food pairings, in-depth estate tours, AVA Cabernet tastings, and our exclusive VIP experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and team-oriented individual who thrives in a luxury setting and takes pride in delivering exceptional hospitality.

Position Options
- Part-Time: Primarily weekends
- Full-Time: Must be available weekends; two consecutive days off mid-week

Key Responsibilities
•  Engage and build relationships with guests to effectively sell wine and club memberships
•  Manage all aspects of the sale process, from bottle to delivery
•  Anticipate guest needs and consistently exceed expectations
•  Host educational, memorable tastings for Club Members, Trade, VIPs, and general guests
•  Provide warm, personalized welcomes and farewells, always using guest names
•  Clearly and confidently present Wine Club features and benefits
•  Book guest experiences via phone, email, and in person in a timely and professional manner
•  Execute opening and closing procedures accurately and efficiently
•  Maintain inventory and organization in the wine storage and tasting rooms
•  Set up and break down tastings, including glassware, dishware, and marketing materials
•  Clear tables, polish glassware, and restock as needed

Ideal Candidate Will Have
•  Proven success in wine sales, hospitality, or event coordination—preferably in a luxury environment
•  Wine education/certification a plus (WSET, CMS, CSW), though we’re happy to train the right person
•  Passion and knowledge of wine and food pairings, and the ability to speak engagingly about both
•  A strong sales track record and the ability to work collaboratively in a small, supportive team
•  Warm and genuine interpersonal skills, with a guest-first mentality
•  Willingness to assist in all aspects of the operation as needed
•  Proficiency with POS systems (preferably eCellars), Microsoft Office, and Excel
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•  Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining an elevated guest experience

Requirements
•  Previous winery, fine dining, or luxury hospitality experience preferred
•  Must be at least 21 years of age
•  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or sit for extended periods
•  Comfortable working in a fast-paced tasting room environment, especially on weekends
•  Ability to speak confidently in front of small groups
•  Valid California Driver’s License
•  Ability to obtain a California Food Handler’s Permit
•  AA or BA degree helpful but not required
•  A passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge with others
