We are seeking a sales-oriented, passionate individual to deliver memorable hospitality experiences to our guests in a multi-faceted role as both a Wine Educator & Admin Support team member. This person must be enthusiastic, charismatic, and passionate about wine. The ability to multitask is a must along with working with the public and in a team environment. Previous winery tasting room/wine club experience is preferred.
As a Wine Educator, your primary role is to create enjoyable experiences while promoting and selling our wines, wine clubs, and products. The ideal candidate will balance a work week between Tasting Room sales and supporting administrative functions that facilitate strategy and operations for guest satisfaction. The Wine Educator & Admin Support role reports to the DTC & Tasting Room Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Wine Educator:
• Provide engaging and tailored explanations of our wines, the history of our estate and vineyards to various sized groups, ensuring each visit is memorable and informative
• Actively promote our wine selections, food options, merchandise, and encourage guests to join our wine club by highlighting membership benefits and exclusive offers
• Provide exceptional hospitality and conduct winery experiences, including wine pairings, guided walking tours, and traditional wine tastings
• Maintain the visual appeal and organization of our retail area and visitor center, ensuring they are well stocked and neatly presented
• Build strong customer relationships to drive wine sales and wine club memberships
• Performs standard duties including greeting customers, conducting tours periodically, providing wine education and operation of cash register and credit card machine
• Assist with the "opening" and "closing" of the winery, POS systems, stocking, inventory, and other various duties
• Demonstrate a commitment to continual learning and improvement while maintaining high operational standards, including safety and regulatory compliance.
• Work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as needed
Admin Support:
• Support the execution of strategies for increasing visitation, sales, membership growth/retention, through digital/web campaigns and targeted promotions
• Support the member experience by providing exceptional customer service and personalized communication via phone, SMS, and email
• Leverage CRM systems and customer data to personalize outreach, offers, and on-site experiences.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures that the PRW culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions, which includes both ethical and legal aspects, complying with federal and state laws and PRW company policies and procedures.
• May be requested to attend special events and tastings outside the winery for special pouring including virtual experiences.
• Bring innovative ideas to the table regarding improvements of safety, service, sales, merchandise, sustainability, and general operations.
• Other duties as assigned by the management team pertaining to all DTC channels, hospitality and events.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be 21+ years of age
• 2-5 Years proven hospitality and sales experience in the wine industry
• Computer proficiency with point-of-sale and CRM systems - Commerce7, RedChirp
• Strong knowledge of wine, winemaking processes, and Russian River Valley appellations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent customer service skills and abilities
• Goal-oriented and sales-driven
• Knowledge of shipping and inventory management
• Dependable with acute attention to detail
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Passionate about hospitality, food, and wine
• Comfortable sitting, standing, walking for extended periods
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (occasionally up to 100 lbs)
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and events (some evenings required)
• Valid CA Driver's License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
