About the job:
Patterson is seeking an enthusiastic, multi-tasking team player, with a strong work ethic. Good communication skill, positive attitude and attention to detail are a must. Harvest Interns will participate in all forms of harvest work including; sanitizing and preparing the crush pad, processing and sorting fruit, daily punch-downs, loading the press, barrel preparation, barreling down and following proper sanitation protocol.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Maintaining cellar and equipment cleanliness by following proper sanitation protocol.
Sorting and processing fruit.
Sampling juice and wine for analysis.
Daily punch downs and pump-overs.
Operating various types of pumps.
Loading the press.
Barrel preparation and sanitation.
Barreling down.
Racking.
Requirements include:
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to bend over, kneel, reach and balance on/ climb ladders.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Capability of working outdoors in all types of weather and climates.
Ability and availability to work long hours and weekends.
Must be punctual and dependable.
Willingness to be a hard worker and team player.
Self- motivated and capable of working independently or as a team.
Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and oral instructions.
Time Frame: Early to Mid September to October (Dependent on vintage)
Pay Rate: $19-$23/hour. Depending on education and experience.
Lunch is provided daily.
