Business Development Manager For Fast-Moving Wine Brand

Are you ready to build something extraordinary?
We’re looking for a sales pro who doesn’t need babysitting. Someone who wakes up hungry,
knows how to hustle smart, and is ready to take full ownership of their territory.

This role is NOT about managing distributors. This is about selling. Period.
We’re a fast-moving wine brand with big goals and a modern approach. We’re not looking for
average — we’re looking for exceptional.

What You’ll Actually Do:

•  Protect and grow sales in a defined list of high-potential accounts.
•  Focus relentlessly on the 20% of accounts that drive 80% of results.
•  Build long-term relationships with restaurant and retail buyers.
•  Own your outcomes. No blaming the distributor. No excuses.
•  Keep your CRM updated. If you hate CRM, this job’s not for you.
•  Collaborate with our team, but act like the CEO of your territory.

What We’re Looking For:

•  Highly organized, self-motivated, zero-handholding required.
•  Clear understanding of how to add value to the buyer, not just pitch products.
•  A modern, data-driven mindset with excellent business acumen.

Compensation:

•  Modest base salary + a no-cap, tiered commission plan.

Job Description: Business Development Manager

-- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Consistently and reliably achieve sales goals by:
a. Protecting the depletions and PODs in the currently
active/engaged accounts base within the assigned territory.
b. Growing depletions and PODs by keeping the focus of
activity and time allocation to a narrow, pre-defined, well-
qualified list of target accounts in the assigned territory.
c. Keeping distributors informed of sales activities and
achievements within the sales territory. Work
collaboratively with them but assume complete
responsibility for sales outcomes.

2. This role is less about “managing” distributors and more about
personally selling.

-- SKILLS REQUIRED

1. Highly organized with a proven ability to manage time and
resources effectively.

2. Strong work ethic, self-starter, able to work independently with
minimum day-to-day supervision.

3. A keen understanding and acceptance of the power of the 80/20
Rule and how to leverage it for maximum sales effectiveness.

4. Commitment to using and leveraging our CRM system
(HubSpot).

5. A “modern” approach to sales:
a. We believe in a customer-centric approach to deeply
understanding customer needs and seeking to add value to
business relationships rather than on the features and
benefits of our products.
b. Building long-term relationships by acting as a trusted
advisor and expert in the use case of canned wine.
c. Respecting the customer journey and sales cycle (long-
term engagement versus short-term, transactional selling).

6. Strong business acumen with the ability to leverage data in
decision-making.

7. Innovative, creative, and resourceful. A “no-excuses” mindset.
8. Highly organized and strong record-keeping skills.

9. Positive, can-do attitude.

10. Team player.

•  A modest base salary + a generous tiered commission structure
with increases in commission rates (the more you sell, the more you make - no ceiling)
