Anaba Wines is a small family owned winery in the Carneros region of Sonoma, California. We produce small lot, high quality wine from Rhône and Burgundian grape varieties grown at our Carneros Estate vineyard and selected outstanding vineyard properties throughout Sonoma County. We are seeking a Full-Time Wine Educator who can work weekends and has some flexibility to help cover summer vacations, and events. Must be accountable, a good teammate, and have a passion for hospitality. Our beautiful outdoor courtyard and back patio will be full this spring and summer and we need your help! Ideal candidates are motivated self-starters and team players who will proudly represent the quality of Anaba wine and hospitality.

POSITION SUMMARY: Wine Educators are responsible for the creation of a memorable guest experience and offer the highest level of hospitality. The Wine Educators will be able to demonstrate passion for our brand and will learn to share educational knowledge of our estate, the varietals with showcase our story. Maintain a level of organization and be cheerful and energetic throughout the day. All efforts are focused on attaining monthly wine clubs and bottle sales while providing gracious hospitality to consumers and trade.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

SALES AND HOSPITALITY:

•  Greets guests to the Tasting Room and assist guests with wine tasting, education, and purchases.
•  Cultivate, maintain, and expand lasting positive relationships with customers.
•  Accurately describes wines, winemaking techniques, appellations, unique aspects of our wine, and winery history.
•  Is passionate about seeking wine knowledge and can accurately describe wines, winemaking techniques, winery history, appellations, unique characters of wine.
•  Promote and sell wines, wine club memberships, accessories, and merchandise to guests.
•  Provide excellent customer service, in person, email, or over the telephone
•  Provides a positive environment for other team members and fosters positivity in the tasting room. Has a glass half full kind of attitude when it comes to hospitality and guest relations and shares that energy with the team.
•  Build, enhance, and maintain long-term guest relationships
•  Act as a passionate informed resource for consumers regarding winemaking, winegrowing, production, vintages, products and availability and awards and accolades
•  Effectively communicates about timeliness of breaks and communicates about the service before breaks for seamless transition.
•  Maintain high standards of cleanliness in both indoor and outdoor spaces
•  Restock wine and packaging materials, as necessary
•  Perform all daily set-up and break-down responsibilities
•  Develop basic understanding of reservation system (Tock) and POS system (Commerce7), Red Chirp and answer tasting room phone to assist with needs to guests
•  Stay up-do-date on all winery and vineyard practices as well as technical information of all wines
•  Support other TR team members as needed during transitions through daily tastings
•  Enter orders into POS system accurately per TR and fulfillment house standards, and makes notes on all orders
•  Keeps a positive attitude and represents Anaba with a high level of integrity and hospitality
•  Remain up to date and knowledgeable about current offerings
•  Anticipates guest needs for smooth seamless service
•  Creates and fosters a team player mentality helping in aspects of the tasting room, such as helping welcome and seat guests and assisting the kitchen run food as needed
•  Finding busy work, refilling waters, polishing and cleaning glassware
•  Follow all company policies and safety standards.
•  Maintain and wear dress code in a professional manner as required


WINE CLUB:

•  Work with the team to reach wine club enrollment goals
•  Assist with coordinating ongoing wine pick ups
•  Help with all aspects of member, client and tasting room events (planning, setting up, breaking down, etc.)


Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be required to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
