Director of Wine Club
Epoch Estate Wines is looking for an enthusiastic team player who has a rich background in the wine industry - specifically in leading, managing, and growing a wine club - to take their wine club to the next level.

Founded in 2004 by geologists Bill and Liz Armstrong, Epoch Estate Wines is an ultra-premium producer of Rhône, Bordeaux, and Spanish varieties grown on our three west Paso Robles estate vineyards — Paderewski, Catapult, and York Mountain. Under the expert craftsmanship of winemaker, Jordan Fiorentini, we produce highly rated wines using organic and biodynamic practices.
Position Overview
As Epoch’s Director of Wine Club, you would play a vital role in building upon the vision that Bill, Liz, Jordan, and our entire team share for our Wine Club. We are looking for a smart, energetic, genuine person to join our passionate team; this person should be a leader, a team player, and willing to pitch in wherever is needed. We are seeking someone open-minded who can bring new ideas to the table and collaborate with our incredible team.
Our Director of Wine Club must have strong managerial experience. He or she will manage our Wine Club Manager and Assistant Wine Club Manager while working closely with the entire Epoch team. This person will report directly to our Senior Director of the Wine Club and work alongside the rest of Epoch’s Steering and Leadership Teams. We work in a hyper-dynamic, collaborative team environment, so our ideal candidate knows how to work well with a variety of personalities.
In addition to the above, you would be maintaining relationships with our current Wine Club members. The Director of Wine Club will help us maintain above average retention (as high as possible) and grow our Wine Club membership base. Customer service is key as we take the utmost care of all of Epoch’s guests; strong communication skills via in-person interactions, email, text, and phone calls is key for both internal and external communication.
As it relates to Sales and Marketing, our Director of Wine Club will develop and implement strategies to increase club membership, such as networking with our peers as well as executing outbound sales campaigns and promotions. We will rely on this person to plan and support our club releases and events held throughout the year. There will also be a large emphasis on data analysis to track key metrics such as member lifetime value, retention rates, and the average order value to identify opportunities for improvement.
The Director of Wine Club will oversee the logistics linked to Epoch’s compliance, shipping, and the fulfillment of our wine club shipments, and in addition, work closely with our team who manages our post-shipments and pickups.
Job Specifics
Full-time: five days per week
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings, as needed
Five years of Wine Club experience, direct-to-consumer sales, and customer service
Strong managerial experience
Ability to bring new ideas to grow our wine club and help execute them
A team player with a positive attitude and a passion for wine and hospitality
Strong sales and communication skills to use with both our internal team as well as our guests of all backgrounds
Knowledge: strong understanding of wine, tastings, and wine industry trends
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience with CRM software (preferrable Commerce 7), database management, text messaging (preferrable Red Chirp), and Microsoft Office
Must be at least 21 years old
College degree preferred; High school diploma or GED required
Pay Range
Salary will be 90-100K, DOE
