About Us:
• Draxton Wines started in 2008 to form a liaison between farmers and wine producers in an industry where the two parties are so connected, but speak different languages. Our team, having experience as Vineyard Managers and Winemakers, spoke these languages. Now 15 years later, Draxton Wines has developed into a wine production company which processes over 15,000 tons of grapes annually for production contracts, custom crush clients, and open market sales. Position Summary:
• This position works with our intimate winemaking team to ensure efficient and quality workflow during harvest at multiple winery sites. This is a temporary assignment, generally from August through December. Schedules are determined on an as-needed basis to keep up with grape processing. This will likely include some weekend work during peak season and may also include some overtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Generate production work orders for grape and wine processing
• Support daily ferment monitoring and communication, as needed
• Record accurate data entry in Vintrace
• Assist with lab analysis
Education/Experience/Skills:
• BS in a science field or equivalent winery/harvest experience
• Experience with a winemaking database, preferably Vintrace
• Basic lab skills helpful, but not necessary
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to provide excellent customer service skills to both internal and external customers
• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail a must
• Proficient in Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Requires a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under the company’s insurance policy
