Job Description:

We have a full-time, temporary opportunity available for a skilled Culinary Supervisor who will create, execute and oversee the culinary program for Artisan Lodges, which includes the Grape Leaf, Camellia and Calderwood Inns. This role is also responsible for preparing dishes for special events.

JOB SUMMARY: The Culinary Supervisor is responsible for the planning, procurement, coordination, and execution of the Artisan Lodges culinary program. The primary focus is providing breakfast service to our guests at the Grape Leaf, Calderwood and Camellia Inns. The incumbent will supervise the Artisan Lodges culinary team order supplies as needed, and ensure that the kitchens are properly stocked at all times. In addition, the Culinary Supervisor will prepare dishes for Artisan Lodges and Wilson Artisan Wineries’ special events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•  At least 21 years of age.
•  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
•  Expert knowledge of cooking skills, menu creation, food safety and storage and employee supervision.
•  Ability to order, store, prepare and serve food according to company standards and expectations.
•  Manager-level safe food handling certification.
•  Ability to perform various administrative duties in an accurate, professional and timely manner.
•  Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
•  Able to present a kind, calm and professional manner at all times.
•  Must possess reliable, insured transportation, valid California driver license & an acceptable driving record.
•  Strong time management, follow-up, follow through and organizational skills.
•  Able to flex schedule as needed to cover other team members and special events.
•  Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail.
•  Able to prepare and manage a budget.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED. Degree or certificate from a culinary program preferred. Three years of successful supervisory-level culinary experience, including local, state and federal health and safety regulations Experience training, coaching and supervising employees. Wine and food pairing experience preferred. Manager-level safe food handling certificate. Able to obtain responsible beverage server certification within 60 days of hire.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Able to communicate in an effective and professional manner in both written and oral formats. Fluent in English. Bilingual/Multilingual preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to successfully manage expenditures within budget.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to effectively problem solve and offer recommendation(s) for solution(s). Must be able to analyze information and make sound decisions/recommendations based on same.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Word required. Proficiency with ADP software preferred.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to effectively problem solve and offer recommendation(s) for solution(s). Must be able to analyze information and make sound decisions based on same.

The employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel and crouch. Must be able to frequently lift/move/carry up to 45 lbs. May use gardening tools.
