Located on the North Fork of Long Island in Mattituck, New York, Macari Vineyards is seeking interns for the upcoming 2025 vintage. Owned and operated by the Macari Family since its establishment in 1995, Macari Vineyards is dedicated to producing world class wines from their waterfront estate. A belief in quality originating in the vineyard guides our principal of cultivating the land in a conscientious and environmentally responsible manner. While Bordeaux varieties comprise the mainstay of our wines, we are continually experimenting with different varieties and techniques to further our understanding of this emerging wine region. Work tenure is likely to extend from the beginning of September through November, though some seasonal flexibility can be expected.

Housing and occasional meals will be provided for work season.

Job Responsibilities:

-Cleaning and sanitizing winery equipment
-Racking and cleaning barrels
-Loading and emptying the press
-Punchdowns, pumpovers grape sampling and sorting
-Daily brix and temps readings
-Assisting on the bottling line as needed

Qualified Candidates Should:

-Be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
-Have the ability to work long hours, including overtime, and occasional weekends
-Be interested in learning about wine and winemaking
-Be able to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate a busy work zone
-Be willing to work long days, including weekends, through a mix of weather conditions
-Have basic math skills
-Previous winery experience is a considerable plus, but not necessary.
