Seasonal Harvest Enologist

Dutton-Goldfield Winery

Sebastopol, CA

Job Description:

Seasonal Harvest Enologist
Dutton-Goldfield Winery

When acclaimed winemaker Dan Goldfield and legacy farmer Steve Dutton inspired to partner and craft their best version of Russian River Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the result has been a 25+ year legacy of producing small quantity, exceptional wines from Dutton Ranch vineyards in Sonoma County with the balance, structure and complexity that have defined Dutton-Goldfield wines for decades. Additionally, Dutton-Goldfield offers custom crush services to a few select clients. This allows for greater exposure to varietals from around Sonoma County, and an opportunity to work with and be a part of a multitude of winemakers and styles.

General Description:
We are looking for a seasonal harvest enologist with a passion for wine, and great enthusiasm for crafting wines of exceptional quality. Candidates will ideally have at least 1 year experience, but not required. A successful applicant will have a can-do attitude, pristine attention to detail, ability to work well as part of a team or on one’s own and possess a willingness to ask questions when directions are not crystal clear.

Duties, and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a dynamic candidate that is curious, diligent, able to work independently, as well as part of a team, and has a strong work ethic. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
•  Grape maturity analysis
•  Fermentation monitoring
•  Wine and juice analysis
•  Data entry (Innovint)
•  QC and maintenance of lab equipment
•  Receiving and processing grapes
•  Inoculations and additions
•  Cap management
Applicants must be available to work the entire harvest season, from mid-August to mid-November, and should be prepared to work a variable schedule and extended hours(work 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week and provide weekly harvest lunches and snacks), including overtime, weekends, and holidays. Interns must be able to perform strenuous physical tasks, such as bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders on a regular basis.

We are a small, close-knit team that works hard and enjoys what we do. We look forward to sharing and learning from the 2025 harvest with you! If you would like a memorable experience crafting coastal Pinot noir and Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley - Sonoma County

Our winery is located within 15 minutes drive of downtown Santa Rosa.
