We are a small to medium size winery located in Salinas, sourcing fruit from the local region. We work with a wide range of grape varieties and wine styles. If you are hardworking, energetic, looking to learn, and enjoy working in a team environment we would love to hear from you.
The position has an immediate start and is projected to last till December 30th 2025. There is potential for a full-time position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
• Red fermentation management - punch downs, pump overs, rack & returns, temperatures
• Cleaning, sanitization and the use of all cellar equipment
• Barrel work - filling, cleaning, racking and emptying
• Racking, transferring and pumping juice and wine
• Additions - yeast, acid, nutrients including calculations
• Obtaining samples and helping the lab when required
• Working safely in a team environment and following all SOP's
We’re looking for someone who:
• Is self-motivated and hard working with a good attitude
• Has the ability to work independently and with a small team
• Has effective communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Thrives in a fast paced, quality-focused environment
• Previous harvest experience and/or a degree in winemaking is preferred but not required
Physical requirements and other details:
• Able to work flexible and extended hours, including weekends
• Continuous walking, climbing, standing, kneeling, crouching and crawling throughout the shift
• The ability to reach with hands and arms, fine manipulation and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• The ability to occasionally work in enclosed spaces and heights; wear a respirator.
Wage transparency: The base pay for this role ranges from $18.50 -$22.50 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
