SUMMARY:
This position performs all routine forklift driving activities in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety policies to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency, and the high quality of all wines produced.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Under limited supervision, operate a powered forklift to move half-ton grape bins throughout the production area.
• Offload full half-ton grape bins from flatbed trucks, stack, and stage them for processing.
• Unload half-ton grape bins into processing equipment and onto grape bin sanitation equipment.
• Remove half-ton bins from sanitation equipment, stack, and stage.
• Load flatbed trucks with sanitized bins for future production.
• Load half-ton bins of grape pomace into trailers for proper transportation.
• Conduct forklift checklists; perform minor servicing and maintenance of powered lifts, including fueling, washing, and greasing.
• Basic reading, writing, and numerical skills required.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to:
o Timely and accurate reporting of all work-related injuries and illnesses to the supervisor.
o Promoting safety awareness to co-workers.
o Advising the supervisor of any unsafe acts and conditions.
o Wearing required personal protective equipment.
o Following confined space protocol where necessary.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. These responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to:
A. General Cellar/Winery Operations
1. Conduct transfers, rankings, filtrations, and chemical additions under the supervision of the Assistant Winemaker.
2. Perform preventative maintenance and simple repairs on winery equipment such as presses, pumps, hoses, and filters.
3. Ensure that winery equipment, tanks, floors, and buildings are kept clean, sanitary, and orderly. Maintain barrels properly.
4. Prepare dosage as directed.
B. Duties Performed During Crush
1. Primarily responsible for performing the majority of cellar work.
2. Potential to run a press crew.
3. Assist with lab work, yeasting’s, and other additions as needed.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
• Perform basic math calculations to complete written work orders.
• Forklift certification required (training conducted on site).
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including graveyard.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
• Working conditions in certain areas of the winery can be cold/hot, wet, slippery, and noisy.
• Flexible hours, weekends, and long hours required during grape harvest.
• Handling hazardous materials, frequent walking (including stairs and ladders), dragging wine hoses, and bending required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Accident prevention is of primary importance in all phases of job responsibilities.

• Immediately report all unsafe conditions, work-related accidents, and illnesses to the Safety Manager and supervisor.
Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The pay scale for this position is $18.00/hr. - $24.00/hr. These figures represent what we expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend on numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and market alignment. The Company reserves the right to modify this range in the future.
