2025 Winery Internship during harvest. All winery duties - from cleaning, fermentation, pressing, barrel work and more. You will see and do everything.
Seeking one more intern with PRIOR EXPERIENCE - 1 or more harvest experience. Forklift experience preferred.
We process about 700-800 tons. Family winery environment.
Length of internship is approx September 1st- November 25.
Pay: DOE $18-$22/hour with over time pay during peak harvest, OR $500-$800/week stipend if housing is provided. International interns - we will help with visa fee and flight cost.
Stolpman Vineyards in Santa Barbara County specializes in premium estate grown Rhone varietals and other esoteric wines. We are looking for team members who are capable of working long hours, lifting and moving heavy objects, feeling safe working on ladders, able to stand for several hours in one place, performing redundant tasks, all while displaying astute judgment and meticulous attention to detail. Team members will be expected to perform every task that is required to make world class wine, from scrubbing drains and cleaning the deepest darkest corners of the winery, stacking and unstacking barrels a hundred times over, executing additions, racking, draining, and barreling down. Harvest and production is hard work and we are looking for hard working individuals who have a great attitude. Work can be 7 days a week with long hours.
Forklifting experience is a plus but not required.
Employees must be punctual, show a willingness to learn, able to follow specific directions precisely, flexible and adaptable in our work environment, a team player, respectful to the environment and each other and possess the drive to absorb and learn as much as possible. • Other Cellar Work, with lots of miscellaneous details and cleaning projects
Qualifications
• Basic or good mechanical abilities
• Basic math skills
• Attention to detail
• Applicant must be able to work safely in a busy atmosphere, must have a great attitude and willingness to learn new things, and get along with co workers without conflict.
• Flexible schedule, ability to work long hours, various shifts and weekends
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, all day if needed
• Ability to climb stairs repeatedly, all day if needed.
• Ability to work long hours, all hours, and have a flexible schedule.
• Morning person. On time every time.
• Prior experience and/or enology/viticulture experience helps and preferred but not required
• Winery and forklift experience are a major plus but not required.
• An open, happy, go with the flow type of mindset
