CELLAR TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION
The Rocks Wine Studio is a private label and custom crush facility located in The Rocks District
of Milton-Freewater. With over 130 fermentation vessels including concrete tanks and eggs,
large format oak tanks, and stainless-steel, each fitted with automatic pump over systems and
Parsec micro-oxygenation, our focus is on high-end wine production to meet the needs of a
diverse client portfolio. We are seeking experienced, motivated and passionate individuals
responsible for the day-to-day cellar operations. During harvest (typically late August through
October), your hours will increase to include overtime in your daily functions. This role comes

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Operate cellar equipment including but not limited to pumps, presses, crusher/de-stemmer,
plate and frame filters, and cross-flow filtration
•    Focuses on efficient, quality processes
•    Moving, racking, and blending wine
•    Demonstrates good attendance, work ethic, responsibility, understands and follows company
guidelines / policies
•    Initiate and execute work order fulfillment
•    Is organized with attention to details
•    Ingredient additions
•    Sanitation and cleanliness of the winery
•    Carries out special projects requiring cellar expertise. Covers a variety of winery needs
including new equipment research and implementations.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
•    Previous wine cellar experience
•    Heavy equipment operation
•    Ability to work well with others and aid in the team building process
•    Ability to work well alone
•    Reliable
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Possess a solid knowledge of wine, grape growing, and winemaking processes with a
willingness to learn
•    Familiarity with the use of all types of winemaking equipment
•    Basic (English) verbal and written communication skills
•    Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
•    Work outdoors/indoors
•    Work in warm and cold climates
•    Work in high places
•    Work on wet surfaces
