Cristom Vineyards is a family-owned winery in the Eola-Amity Hills of the Willamette Valley, producing site-focused Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Gamay noir and Syrah in a biodynamic, environmentally aware and sustainable manner.
We’re currently seeking one qualified individual to fill the role of Harvest Lab Technician. This person would perform all the laboratory analyses, as well as have the opportunity to experience all elements of cellar work, biodynamic farming and animal husbandry.
Lab Technician Responsibilities:
• Performing routine juice and wine analyses (Brix, pH, TA)
• Processing and analyzing maturity samples
• Operating Y15 auto-analyzer for enzymatic analyses (malic acid, volatile acidity, YAN, Glu/Fru)
• Preparing and executing acid addition titrations
• Daily sampling from open-top fermenters and barrel fermentations
• Daily Brix and temperature measurements on all fermentations
• Recording analysis data in InnoVint software.
Additional Cellar Responsibilies, as needed:
• Sorting incoming fruit
• Daily cap management (punchdowns and pumpovers)
• Filling and emptying presses
• Digging out red fermenters
• Racking and barreling down juice and wine
• Cleaning and steaming barrels
• Racking wine from barrels

This position will begin as early as July 25th and continue through the end of harvest. The end date could be as early as mid-October and as late as mid-November, depending on the season.
