Tench Estate is looking for one more intern to complete our 2025 Harvest Team!

WHERE:
Tench Estate is located in the Oakville AVA of the Napa Valley, California, USA

WHEN:
This position is for the period from mid-August to October or November (depending on harvest timing) but can vary depending on the season.

As a family-owned estate winery and vineyard (on 61 acres!), we not only focus on making ultra-premium Bordeaux varietals wines but we also custom crush for a small number of highly acclaimed winemakers. As such, joining team Tench means you will be exposed to the entirety of the winemaking process through different winemaking styles! At Tench, we value passion, hard work, and dedication from our group of interns and focus on intensive training, task rotation, and our time together including walking the vineyards and eating lunches together daily. (Lunch is provided daily during the peak of harvest!)

PAY:
Compensation is $22 per hour plus overtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
Fermentation cap management (pump over, punchdown, pulse Air)
Clean and sanitize winery and winery equipment
Run crushing line
Drain and press lots
Barrel work (topping, moving, filling, stirring)
Inoculations and nutrient additions
Daily brix and temp readings
Pull samples and other basic lab duties

WHO:
We are looking for a motivated, reliable, self starter to join our diverse and tightly knit team! Our ideal candidate: someone passionate about premium winemaking in our top-tier facility, willing to work in all aspects of harvest winemaking, and excited to crush the 2025 vintage (pun-intended)!

Qualifications:
Previous harvest experience preferred but not required
Interest in wine
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Willingness to learn
Adaptability to changing circumstances
Works well under pressure
Forklift experience a plus but not required
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to communicate in English

Physical requirements:
Interns are frequently required to do the following:
Stand and walk for extended periods of time
Climb up and down ladders
Push, pull and lift 50 pounds
Work long and irregular hours
Listen well to directions and a wide variety of musical genres
