Bricoleur Vineyards is a family-owned Winery in the heart of the Russian River Valley. 2017 was our first vintage and we have quickly established ourselves as one of the most dynamic wineries in Sonoma County between our wine and food offerings. We are looking for a harvest intern that will be hands on in the cellar and the vineyard. The production of premium, small lot wines will be your focus, working with 12 grape varieties between our two estate vineyards.
The harvest intern position will cover all aspects of winemaking. Including but not limited to:
Vineyard
- Bricoleur Vineyards sources fruit from 6 unique growing sites in Sonoma County. As harvest intern, you will be responsible for sampling each vineyard, processing samples, and building a simple database of results. You will share latest results with the winemaking team. These results will determine pick decisions.
- Crop estimates: work with the winemaking and vineyard team to create crop estimates by block. Follow through with winemaking team with barrel and tank planning.
Cellar
- Proficient in sanitation & cleanliness.
- Fruit processing
- Punchdowns and pumpovers
- Must and wine transfers
- Filling, topping, cleaning barrels
- Measuring daily Brix and temperature
- Assist in data entry and quality control including but not limited to lot volume tracking, vessel tracking, press cycle tracking
- Work with Bricoleur Vineyard’s winemaking team and fellow interns to prioritize and execute daily tasks
Qualifications:
1. Must be kind and passionate about learning.
2. College degree or equivalent preferred
3. Valid driver’s license
4. Personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement for miles driven required for work)
5. Ability to commute or relocate to Santa Rosa, CA
6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel
7. Perform simple math calculations
8. Forklift skills and a mechanical aptitude is a plus.
9. Positive attitude and the ability to work within a team, as well as independently
10. Able to lift 50 lbs.
11. Eager to work extended hours.
12. Willing to work Saturdays and Sundays as needed
Language Skills: Fluent English, spoken and written – Spanish proficiency a plus
Job Type: Part-time, seasonal
This position will start July 1st and run through November (depending on weather and harvest).
Compensation: Compensation based on experience.
