General Manager

Russian River, CA

Job Description:

About Us
We are a distinguished luxury wine estate located in the Russian River Valley, dedicated to crafting more than just exceptional wines—we build legacies rooted in place, people, and story. Our commitment is to uncompromising quality, precision in style, and deep expression of the region’s unique character. We invite collectors and connoisseurs not just to taste, but to connect—to the land, to our team, and to the moments that wine makes unforgettable.

We are seeking a General Manager who will serve not only as an operational leader but as a visionary steward of our values, someone who will cultivate team excellence, drive sales through authenticity, and elevate our customer relationships to new heights.
This is a rare opportunity to take the helm of one of Sonoma’s most distinctive luxury wine brands, with a leadership role that spans strategy, team development, sales execution, and cultural integrity.

Who You Are
You are a curious and confident leader, grounded in strategy but inspired by people. You understand that luxury is defined by experience, consistency, and meaningful connection. You’re as comfortable leading a KPI review as you are hosting a vineyard walk for top-tier collectors. You seek clarity, lead with purpose, and know how to bring out the best in those around you.

Your Role
As General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our estate, including the sales, marketing, hospitality, and DTC teams. This role is both strategic and hands-on—you will guide long-term growth while ensuring the daily rhythm of excellence. Your focus will be on growing DTC and allocation-based sales channels, nurturing client relationships, and leading a small, passionate team with focus, heart, and clarity.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a Culture of Excellence
•  Set the tone for the organization: uphold and model our values in every touchpoint, internally and externally
•  Mentor and manage a multi-disciplinary team across hospitality, sales, and marketing
•  Collaborate directly with ownership and the winemaking team to align operational goals with creative vision
•  Develop and implement systems that scale sustainably without sacrificing personalization

Drive Sales Through Connection & Strategy
•  Lead all DTC and allocation sales strategies with a focus on luxury-level client journey, service, and retention
•  Partner with internal marketing teams and agencies to create integrated campaigns across email, digital, and in-person channels
•  Develop strategic plans for wine club growth, VIP list engagement, and national collector outreach
•  Guide event strategy, including curated tastings, collector dinners, and market-facing brand experiences

Deliver Exceptional Brand Experiences
•  Serve as the public face of the estate—both in the tasting room and in the market
•  Cultivate an elite client experience that fosters lifetime value and genuine brand advocacy
•  Lead on the floor when needed—hosting tastings, managing high-touch visits, and welcoming clients as guests of the estate
•  Ensure every detail—from a confirmation email to a wine shipment—is handled with intention and care

Manage Operations with Vision and Precision
•  Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, inventory planning, and day-to-day logistics
•  Ensure CRM, allocation systems, and back-end tools are optimized and consistently used
•  Manage vendor and agency relationships, setting expectations and tracking outcomes
•  Report on performance and strategic goals to ownership on a regular cadence

What You Bring
•  5+ years of senior management experience in the wine industry or relevant luxury sectors
•  Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing cross-functional projects
•  Proven ability to grow and execute sales and marketing strategies, especially within DTC and allocation-based models
•  Deep understanding of luxury customer expectations and how to exceed them
•  Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting
•  Tech-savvy with experience in CRM, e-commerce, and DTC management platforms (e.g., Offset, Commerce7, Shopify, Red Chirp)
•  Grace under pressure, humility in leadership, and a high-touch communication style
•  A genuine love of wine and the connections it creates

Values We Share
•  Integrity & Intention: Every action reflects our commitment to quality and care
•  Curiosity & Innovation: We never stop learning or improving
•  Connection: We believe in the power of human relationships to build enduring loyalty
•  Elegance: In tone, service, and execution, we aim for understated luxury
•  Ownership: We take pride in our work, and we’re invested in the future we’re building

What You Can Expect
•  Competitive salary with performance-based bonus
•  Health benefits, 401(k), PTO, and employee wine allocation
•  A high-trust, low-ego work culture rooted in collaboration and quality
•  A leadership role with room for creativity and autonomy
•  A chance to grow with one of Sonoma’s most exciting luxury wine programs

To Apply
Please submit your resume and a thoughtful cover letter that speaks to your leadership philosophy, your connection to the wine world, and your vision for what modern luxury hospitality and sales can be. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just fit the role—but elevates it.
