Job Description:

Work directly with the Winemaker to execute and manage all aspects of cellar operations:

Set up lines for transfers, racking, and receiving grapes, juice and wine
Conduct wine and juice transfers and racking
Perform barrel work: filling, topping, stirring and cleaning
Sanitize tanks, hoses, and equipment
Execute pump-overs and punch-downs during fermentation
Operate press and manage pressing operations
Perform chemical additions to musts and wines
Maintain daily cleanliness and organization of the cellar
Conduct basic laboratory analysis (e.g., Brix, pH, TA, SO2)
Assist in monitoring and managing active fermentations
Enter data and maintain accurate winemaking records
Track and inventory cellar, lab, and bottling supplies
Collect and prepare samples for lab analysis and tastings
Coordinate wine movements and production priorities with the Winemaker
Carry out additional projects and tasks as assigned
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and safety protocols

Vineyard Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Winemaker/Vineyard Manager in vineyard operations, including:

Vineyard planting and establishment
Installing and maintaining trellising and irrigation systems
Canopy management (e.g., shoot thinning, leaf pulling, crop thinning)
Vineyard floor management (mowing, weeding, cover cropping)
Pest control and nutrient spraying
Harvest preparation and grape picking

Qualifications:

A passion for wine!
Prior experience in winery and/or vineyard preferred
Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor in various conditions for potentially extended periods of time
Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic understanding of winemaking and viticulture processes
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends during harvest
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have the ability to taste, smell and see wine products
Must have a valid driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week (More during peak times like bottling and harvest)
