About Shea Wine Cellars:

Shea Wine Cellars is a small, family owned and operated winery producing small lot Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the heart of the Willamette Valley. We have been in business as a vineyard since 1989 and as a winery since 1996. Shea Vineyard is a LIVE Certified vineyard and supplies fruit to approximately 20 premier Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers in Oregon, California, and Washington.

Our tasting room is within our working production facility. Customers are offered a glimpse into the process of Shea Vineyard and Shea Wine Cellars and what makes both so revered.

Position Summary:

The Tasting Room Associate is pivotal in creating memorable and educational experiences for our visitors. This role encompasses all facets of our direct-to-consumer (DTC) program, including leading personalized tasting experiences, conducting vineyard tours, driving sales and wine club sign-ups, and ensuring the smooth operation of our tasting room. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and trustworthy individual with a passion for wine, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to create lasting connections with our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a talented tasting room professional to contribute to our growing winery and reports directly to the Tasting Room Manager. This position requires weekend and some holiday work.

General Duties:

Models exceptional and personalized customer service by providing in-depth wine knowledge and engaging conversation tailored to each visitor's interests.
Proactively identifies and resolves tasting room issues and visitor feedback escalating to the Tasting Room Manager as needed.
Maintains accurate records of visitor interactions and preferences to enhance future communications and personalize outreach via phone. Collecting guest data in Commerce 7.
Ensures timely and professional responses to all phone inquiries.
Maintains a welcoming, organized, and clean environment within the tasting room and surrounding areas.
Accurately tracks wines opened, dated, and properly preserved (e.g., gassed) at the end of each day.
Assists with inventory management tasks and the preparation and execution of wine club pick-up events.
Operates an RTV or similar vehicle safely and confidently to conduct vineyard tours, providing insightful commentary on our vineyard practices and terroir.
Maintains a high level of trust and responsibility, particularly when working independently at the winery.
Other duties as assigned by the Tasting Room Manager.
Tasting Room & Vineyard Experience Duties:

Ensures the tasting room is impeccably presented and ready to welcome guests each day.
Shares in-depth wine knowledge and tasting techniques with guests, guiding them through our portfolio.
Expertly leads guests through personalized tastings, actively promoting wine sales and club memberships.
Responsible for opening and closing the cash drawer and processing transactions accurately.
Verifies adequate stock of tasting room supplies and wine on a daily basis.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Minimum of two years of experience working in a tasting room environment.
Proven ability to provide exceptional and personalized customer service.
Comfortable and confident operating an RTV or similar vehicle.
