Job Summary:
As the Director of Guest Experiences, you will be responsible for selling wine and club memberships, innovative marketing techniques to drive traffic to both tasting locations, building strong business relationships, and facilitating memorable customer experiences on our estate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer-facing roles, exceptional management and organizational skills, and a passion for the wine industry.
Responsibilities:
Wine Sales:
Conduct engaging wine tastings by providing insights into wine varieties and tasting notes. Build a rapport with the customers to understand preferences and recommend suitable wines. Encourage sales by promoting featured wines and knowledge of the brand. Process sales transactions and handle inventory as needed.
Drive Traffic:
Develop and implement creative marketing strategies to attract customers to both the Ranch House and Tasting Room, with a primary focus on promoting the Ranch House. This will involve working with the Marketing and Branding team at Alma Rosa to develop digital and traditional marketing channels to drive engagement, increase brand awareness, and highlight the unique experiences offered. Additionally, identify and pursue new business opportunities to foster partnerships, generate referrals, and build lasting relationships that drive repeat visits and business growth
Business-to-Business Outreach:
Proactively reach out to local businesses, restaurants, hotels, and other high-end establishments to establish meaningful B2B relationships. Focus on building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships through personalized communication, collaboration, and ongoing engagement. Nurture these relationships by identifying opportunities for joint promotions, cross-marketing initiatives, and shared growth.
Events:
Plan, organize, and host engaging events, exclusive tastings, and compelling promotions designed to drive foot traffic, enhance brand loyalty, and foster meaningful customer engagement.
Marketing:
Develop and execute targeted local marketing campaigns and sales initiatives aimed at boosting brand awareness and driving customer engagement. Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Branding Team to create compelling, impactful materials that resonate with the target audience.
Network Building:
Deliver outstanding customer service by training other sales employees, consistently exceeding expectations, fostering a welcoming and personalized experience for every customer. Focus on building long-lasting relationships with both customers and business partners through attentive communication and reliability. Strive to create trust and loyalty, ensuring each interaction leaves a positive and lasting impression that strengthens the overall brand experience.
Representation:
Serve as a brand ambassador for the winery at local events, trade shows, and industry functions, actively representing the brand to increase visibility, foster connections, and elevate the winery’s presence within the community and industry.
Data Analysis:
Set clear and measurable targets for customer engagement and sales. Monitor sales performance and traffic to adjust strategies and achieve targets.
Qualifications:
Sales Experience: Proven sales background, preferably in the wine industry, with strong negotiation and closing skills.
Customer Service Expertise: Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build lasting relationships with customers and partners.
Event Planning & Execution: Experience organizing and executing events, tastings, and promotions, managing logistics and ensuring smooth operations.
Networking & Relationship Building: Skilled at building B2B partnerships with local businesses, restaurants, and industry professionals.
Wine Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of wine varieties, production methods, and the ability to educate customers.
Marketing & Branding: Understanding of marketing strategies and the ability to collaborate on creating promotional materials.
Public Speaking & Presentation: Comfortable speaking at events, trade shows, and industry functions to represent the brand.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
