We are seeking motivated individuals to participate in a unique opportunity to work directly with the winemaking team at Moon Mountain Vineyard, the home of Repris Wines. The right candidate will gain hands-on experience using cutting edge equipment in a storied facility to produce wines of distinction across multiple brands showcasing varied winemaking styles. Working in the heart of the Moon Mountain District AVA, amongst the stunning vistas of Sonoma Valley and beyond, our experienced team of winemakers, viticulturalists and cellar crew appreciate the vast world of experience that our interns bring with them.
Repris Wines produces Bordeaux and Rhône-inspired wines sourced exclusively from the CCOF-certified 70+ acres of Moon Mountain Vineyard. Fifteen varieties planted on steep terrain in volcanic soils at 950 – 1700 ft above sea level are mere steps away from 18,000 square feet of natural rock caves used for barrel storage.
Texture Wines is focused on producing luxury-tier Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a handful of the most exciting vineyards in the Anderson Valley, Petaluma Gap, and Sonoma Coast AVA’s.
Pangloss Cellars is dedicated to crafting small-batch red, white and sparkling wines from a mixture of local vineyards across an eclectic selection of varieties that celebrate the history and esoteric treasures of Sonoma Valley and Moon Mountain District.
Basic responsibilities include:
- Wine, juice and grape sampling, sample preparation and basic chemical analysis
- Fruit processing
- Equipment and tank sanitation / maintenance
- Fermentation monitoring
- Cap management practices (punch-downs & pump-overs)
- Additions to wines and musts
- Bottling
A qualified candidate may meet the following criteria:
- Must have reliable transportation and secured housing
- Previous harvest, cellar, or lab experiences are helpful but a positive attitude, sense of humor and strong work ethic are essential. We work well with people from all career backgrounds.
- Adaptability to changing environments and conditions.
- Willing to work variable hours over a period of 6 days with 1 day off.
- Able to perform demanding physical tasks over extended hours and ability to climb stairs and ladders repeatedly.
- Able to follow written and oral instruction.
Internship start dates are flexible but typically runs from end of July through the end of November, depending on season. $22-24/hr DOE + $500 bonus split at beginning and end of season.
Typical work week is Mon-Sat. 8-12hrs per shift. Day shifts only. Varies with the season.
