Cellar – Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Follow and execute detailed work orders with precision and accuracy
• Possess knowledge and understanding of standard cellar procedures
• Manage time effectively while balancing priorities and overlapping projects
• Adhere to and demonstrate safe cellar practices, including proper chemical handling
• Understand and comply with confined space entry procedures
• Maintain and follow safe lift truck operating practices
• Work independently with minimal supervision while multitasking and prioritizing tasks
• Ensure sanitation and proper operation of pumps, hoses, and wine/juice transfer equipment
• Promptly report any equipment failures or required maintenance
• Accurately perform chemical additions to juice and wine as directed
• Operate complex cellar equipment, including (but not limited to) pumps, crossflow filters, and other machinery
• Monitor and report low inventory levels of cellar supplies as needed
• Immediately notify Winemaker of any performance issues, safety concerns, wine spills, equipment malfunctions, or policy violations
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and efficient cellar workspace
• Complete all closing responsibilities
• Assist with additional assignments as needed (e.g., shipping and receiving, compliance tasks, tasting room support, bottling line assistance)
